Set It Up
Developing Leaders for Healthy Churches
One of the most serious detriments to the health and life span of an organization — particularly the local church — is the absence of an intentional plan of transition. Some churches may rebound with the absence of a building expansion plan, ministry program development, or even a solid budgetary plan. However, few recover without having a clear plan of leadership succession.
Throughout this book, the author proposes a step-by-step understanding of the nature of succession from a biblical, practical and social construct. Clear examples are presented that demonstrate adverse emotional and organizational impact in situations where churches are left to “figure it out.” The author draws from such examples in contrast to the benefits of setting succession strategy, as seen through his own experience as the founding pastor of a successful ministry.
